Edited the BG, I liked this one more Drawn and colored in photoshop, using a Wacom tablet. Actually, after editing the bg, it kinda gives another feeling. And it's better now, I think.
No more edits, probably. I will if there's any critics though!
first off.. amazing concept and design i love it..
that being said. the render > cloud background could probably go, even a greyscale would have been better.. just because all the little details in the cloud tends to steal away from the foreground. (it might make the picture look more complete but it also makes it look photoshopped y'know?)
the girl is really really well done, and there's nothing i can really give you criticism on for her.. just keep it up and it always keep looking better
the creature could have had a little bit of texturing on him tho. a touch more attention on the shading as well.. make him look as real as the girl does. maybe some depth around his eye to make it look like its not popping out of his head like bug eyes. (less that was the effect you were going for lol.. ) you seem to have a good grasp of light effects and how they change the coloring on peices however from his arms and torso and the light coming out from under him.. which is really good.
all in all this was a really good peice.. with a really great concept :-D

The design of the Golem and girl look interesting but could use some more development. Do some more sketches and refine, refine refine. The pose of the girl is interesting but the pose of the Golem looks very stiff and could be more dynamic like perhaps curving around the girl more in a kneeling position creating a sort of C. That would create a circular flow to the girl and give that sort of protector thing that I think you were trying to attain. When rendering it is OK to use dark values but it is not suggested to use pure black because it flattens out the image and this is not exception. Just having a splash of color, say about 5% or more will still be effective for darks and I would suggest using compliment colors for those darks as they will make your image pop more.
Hope that helps.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
